Air compressors: what to know

Our 5 Bison air compressors supply compressed air for a workshop or garage: tyre inflation, blow guns, spray painting or air tools. Their tanks range from 24 to 100 L and all of them run on 220 V, 50 Hz. The range has three silent oil-free models, one direct-drive model and one belt-driven model.

Choosing an air compressor

Start from the air flow your tools need, in L/min: it is in their manual. Choose a compressor that delivers at least that flow at the tool's working pressure. Keep a margin: a datasheet flow may be the intake displacement, which is higher than the air actually delivered. A larger tank keeps a reserve of air and lets the motor rest between cycles. An oil-free compressor suits work that needs clean air, such as spray painting.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose an air compressor?

Choose it by the air flow your tools need, then by pressure and tank size. According to the datasheets, our Bison compressors deliver 185 to 750 L/min, for the models whose flow is stated. Where the pressure is stated, it is 8 or 10 bar. Their tanks range from 24 to 100 L.
