Petrol pumps: what to know

Our 3 Bison petrol water pumps are for irrigation, construction sites and moving water where there is no mains power. They have an air-cooled 4-stroke engine and recoil start. Their outlet is 50, 80 or 100 mm depending on the model (2, 3 or 4 inches).

Choosing a petrol water pump

A petrol water pump has its own engine: it works away from the grid, by a river, a pond or on a site. The wider the outlet, the higher the flow. For fixed use where power is available, an electric pump is simpler to run day to day. See all our water pumps.

Frequently asked questions

What is a petrol water pump for?

Pumping water without electricity: irrigation, construction sites, filling or emptying a pond. The petrol engine drives the pump directly, so you can use it far from any socket.

What is the difference between the BS20, BS30 and BS40?

Outlet size and flow. The BS20 has a 50 mm outlet, the BS30 80 mm (50 m³/h) and the BS40 100 mm (60 m³/h). The BS20 delivers up to 28 m, the BS30 and BS40 up to 30 m. All three have recoil start and a 3.6 L tank.
