Jet pumps: what to know

Our 2 LEO jet pumps draw water from a shallow well or a tank and send it to the house. They are self-priming: they clear the air from the suction pipe at start-up. The AJM110H draws from up to 9 m according to its datasheet, which is close to the limit of a surface pump.

Choosing a jet pump

A jet pump suits water that sits below the pump, in a well or a buried tank. Beyond a depth of about 9 m, you need a pump placed in the water. If the water already comes from the mains or a raised tank and only pressure is missing, a booster pump is enough. Our guide on which water pump for a house helps you choose.

Frequently asked questions

What does "self-priming" mean?

A self-priming pump clears the air from the suction pipe by itself at start-up, then draws water. As a rule, the pump body is filled with water before the first start: follow the model's manual. Never let it run dry.

What head and flow does the AJM75H give?

According to its datasheet, the LEO AJM75H (0.75 kW) has a maximum head of 50 m and a maximum flow of 2.8 m³/h, or 47 L/min. It accepts water up to 60 °C.
